How to setup dedicated VMWare Servers

Software Setup

How to setup VMWare ESXi.

1. Make a USB stick with lastest VMWareESXi
2. Install such USB stick in the USB port inside the server box
3. Boot up the server, boot into BIOS and
4. set the USB device as the first bootable device in the boot sequence option
5. enable VT for maximum virtualization performance
6. Config Hardare RAID if any
7. Config IP and root password:
8. Config the VMWare Host:
9. Use VI Client login the the IP number you assigned above.
10. Config datastore(s)
11. Config hostname:
12. Under: DNS and Routing section Config time sync:
1. Set NTP server to be: time.cybercon.com
2. Start NTP client and set NTP client to auto start
13. Update Company Database
1. Add IP numbers used by this Host to the IP manager
2. Add this new server to the Server Manager (Server Name, Location, OS, Server IP, root password ....)
